Please Finish registering for CC. A handful need physicals(I will be emailing them later today) most need MSHSL form filled out and nearly all need to pay the $185 school fee. We are also hoping most will pay the $30 assessment to help cover miscellaneous costs like coach buses, etc..

To register you will need your students new password. To get that you will need to fil out the blended learning form. Then parents can find their athletes new password on the Infinite campus page or by calling the office.

Practice cancelled due to lightning. Get out for a short/medium run today if and when you can. Long run will move to Thursday and Time trial will not be held Friday. Practice Friday for all students 8am.

Greyhound Nation All-Sports Meeting Wednesday evening. 5:30 in the auditorium.

7th grade through first year 9th graders ~7:30-9 am
returning 9th graders – 12th graders ~8:30-10

Mon- medium run
Tues – medium run and strength
Wed- LONG run. expect a little longer practice
Thurs – Easier run with Strength
Friday – ALL ATHLETES WILL MEET AT LESTER AT 8AM

WEEK 2 will be 8-10AM for all – Local Race on Thursday – Location currently TBD

PLEASE get registered online ASAP… We know there are some kinks especially for new students and middle school. Beyond the school registration fee of $185, we are asking for each family to bring a $30 check (per family) made out to Duluth East CC to help cover miscellaneous costs which include things like upgrading to coach buses on some trips.

  • Our practices will be starting Aug 15th
    • Bring a good pair of running shoes, appropriate clothing for the day and some water to drink before and after.
    • 7, 8 , and first year 9th graders will practice from 7:30- ~9am
    • Returning 9th graders as well as 10-12 will practice from 8:30- ~10am
    • Listen at practices and check here for changes coming for week 2
  • Get registered (links are found on the top of this website as well.)
    • Fill out our form
    • Do the District stuff
      • Which includes physicals (often for 7 and 10th graders)
      • Fill out district questionnaire
      • Pay district fee – it will show up on students Infinite campus after filing in questionaire
      • Pay CC assessment fee to coaches of $30 (East Cross Country running) to help offset costs like occasional upgrades to coach buses.
  • Start running if you have not
    • Get a good pair of shoes and build some fitness before the first day – it’ll make it easier, but is not required.

This is the training plan leading into sections. If you are able to be at practice you should be. That is the expectation. Section runners are apart of a team. Be there if at all possible. If not follow this to the best of your ability. This plan helps develop speed and intensity while allowing enough recovery to be fast. You all want to be fast. This will help you get there. Your team needs all of you to be ready. Mr. Kyes

Thursday,Friday and Monday-practice at Lester Park Golf Course, 9:00 AM

Thursday 2 miles easy followed by 1 mile or 6 minutes at race pace, then 1 more mile including 6  x 100 meters  

Friday. Moderate run of 35-45 minutes (4-6miles)

Saturday- Easy run of 30  minutes with 6 strides of 150- 200 meters (80%)

Sunday- rest or very easy running

Monday. 20 minute run  followed by strides on grass

Tuesday. 20 minute warmup run , stretching, Strides if you feel you need them.

Wednesday- Section Meet at Anoka, bus leaves at 10:45.
