Remember, you need a physical dated after June 1st that is valid for Grades 7-9 and another one valid for grades 10-12.  You can check the Parent Portal and go to the Activities Department area/tab for your current physical status.

Hello student-athletes and families!  Please refer to website for updated information throughout the season for all your needs.  To kick off the summer season our captains have arranged a practice schedule.  The Captains’ Practice schedule will follow this announcement.  Please mark your calendars so you can participate in the upcoming activities and events!   Have a great summer and get in your base before the season officially kicks off in August!

Congratulations to both state qualifers Molly Weberg and Rebecca Miles on their race at State!  Rebecca finished in 20:16 and Molly with 20:46!!!!!!

Great effort to the sections teams!  Girls placed 3rd overall and the boys placed 7th overall.

Race Times:

Girls – 3:00 PM (5000m)

Boys – 3:45 PM (5000m)

The top two (2) teams and top eight (8) individuals not on an advancing team advance to the state meet.

Team trophies are given the 1 st and 2 nd place team.

Nine (9) team medals are given to each member of the 1 st and 2 nd place teams

Eight (8) State Qualifier medals are given to the top eight individuals advancing to state meet who are not on either the 1 st or 2 nd place teams.

Section 7 CC T-shirts will again be sold ($15) at the meet.

Parking:

Again, due to limited parking at the clubhouse, the main parking lot will be reserved for workers and team buses/vans.

 

Several students need to pick up their pictures from Ms. LaFontaine  and/ or pay for their photos.

A missed THANK YOU to JOE HAGGENMILLER and his BIKING the course all day at SWAIN!

Swain was a super success with all the help and support from our great student- athletes and families!  Thank yous go out to all the parents that were quick with cameras; Vatthauers, Webergs, Johnson-Pihlaja, our own Michael Yu!  The camp and starting line was taken care of by many other helpful adults including the Bensers, Milners, and LaFontaines to name a few!  Thanks managers for all your efforts with the timing bibs and clean up at end.  Thanks to those student-athletes that stayed to the end to help with all the clean up- you were helpful, efficient and really appreciated! Friday potluck last week was excellent!  Thanks for those that contributed to the feed supply!  Some containers were left as was clothing from Swain- al have been washed and cleaned and will be available for retrieval at Monday’s practice.

MIDDLE  SCHOOL MEET AT HERMANTOWN CANCELLED TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Congratulations team on another successful training week and competition!  If you missed the Hibbing Memorable Mud Run Race, there are pictures everywhere for your viewing delight!

This week we will again practice hard as we come ever closer to our section race.  Please plan for cooler, wetter weather and layers of clothing.  Keep the fluids going in and icing sore spots.  Do daily shin prevention stretches and exercises to keep pain minimal.

TUESDAY- MIDDLE SCHOOL MEET AT HERMANTOWN hosted by Lakeview Christian Academy meet starts at 4:ooPM.   Students need to be excused at 2:45PM, bus will leave from ORDEAN EAST MIDDLE SCHOOL at 3:00PM The bus only goes to Hermantown, own transportation home.

Parents we appreciate help at team camp, similar to Milaca Meet, getting kids to the starting line on time, keeping camp in control, etc.

WE ARE THE HOST SCHOOL FOR THIS MEET AND WE RECEIVE A GENEROUS DONATION TO OUR PROGRAM HELPING WITH COURSE SET UP, CLEARING AT END, GARBAGE REMOVAL, and other miscellaneous tasks.

OUR TEAM NEEDS TO ARRIVE BY 8:45AM.  Plan to stay until clean up at end of meet.  Bring food and snacks to keep fueled before and after your races.  Concessions and apparel are available for purchase.

Special thanks to Jim Milner for chaperoning a bus to Milaca!!!!  Thanks also Mr. LaFontaine for driving the much needed tent for camp at Milaca!  Thank you to all that brought  water, food and support to the meet.  Very hot conditions and we still had kids PR!  Remember results are online through Gopher State Events.

REMINDERS:  Each year we seem to need to reiterate our expectations for bus courtesy, participation, and commitment to the team.  Please help remind your student-athlete their behaviors, choices and actions affect the team, community and school.  Overall, great experiences this season and we aim to  continue to enforce dedication to team, sport and academics.  We look forward to the second half of our season!  —-the Coaches.

Snacks, Secret Buddy, food to share in the past so welcome to donate food items, collapsible travel table. We do not have luxury busses and space will be limited on bus, take only meet items!
